"I was unable to leave the house for weeks at a time. I was on a permanent IV for 8 hours a day, everyday.

I felt so alone and sick.

But one thing that always made me feel better was lighting candles.

But I soon realized that after using certain candles I felt my body reacting negatively. I would get headaches, my eyes and skin would itch, my nose would run. I even started charting which candles tended to aggravate me the most.

After researching the candle ingredients, I realized that I was burning petroleum, coal, and unknown fragrances oils. But burning candles was one of the only things that kept me calm, so I decided to take a candle making class so I could make my own with clean and healthy ingredients.

I realized people interact with scent and candles in individual and personal ways.

Thus, the idea of creating custom candles for everyone was born, and I launched my own candle company, Flores Lane."
